Moxabustion

Paulus Protocol + 8 Extraordinary Meridians for Fertility

Moxabustion

Mugwort/Artemisia Argyi/Artemisia Vulgaris/Ai Ye leaves

The burning Mugwort stick is put near to the skin’s surface on specific acupuncture points. Analgesic (pain relieving) effects have been studied and documented and are related to the active component, Borneol. It is know for its use in chronic pain, muscle tension, immune stimulation, organ strengthening, gynecology, digestive issues, depression, chronic kidney disease, headaches, migraines and more.

It has been proven as an emmenagogue stimulating blood circulation to pelvis area and uterus. Subnucleus reticularis dorsalis neurons and heat shock proteins become activated by moxa and thermolytic/antipyretic effects are achieved by stimulating polymodal receptors of points. This leads to vasoconstriction at the point and vasodilation of peripheral arterial flow and microvasculature permeability. Pharmacological actions include clearing free radicals and lipid peroxidation.

Smoke from moxa is antiviral and antifungal.
